The Rapid Decline of the Lower Deschutes river

The DRA's first documentary video, from 2017, documents numerous water quality and ecological changes that have been observed in the lower Deschutes River after the construction and implementation of a "Selective Water Withdrawal" tower at the Pelton Round Butte Hydroelectric Project. Featuring interviews with several longtime Deschutes River users and local business owners, the video provides a primer on the issues facing the lower Deschutes and the DRA's efforts to protect and restore this remarkable river.

A River Worth Fighting For

The DRA's newest video highlights the impacts that Selective Water Withdrawal operations have had on the businesses and community of Maupin, Oregon. And it describes the efforts of the DRA to fight back, using an important Clean Water Act lawsuit to ensure the river's water quality and aquatic life are protected.
