A Note from a Donor

A supporter shared the following note with the DRA after reading John Schwartz's Deschutes Musings.

Dear John,

I want you to know that your “Deschutes Musings” article in the 2020 DRA Annual Donor Update struck a meaningful chord with me. I also started fishing the Deschutes in 1983, then went “all in” by retiring in Maupin in 1993. My goal was to be a Trout Bum… and succeeded!

I too have noticed the changes in insect & bird activity – my “Coleman Caddis Crematoriam” no longer attracts them. The slicker rocks and less surface feeding trout are disappointing & disheartening. My fly fishing friends all agree.

I am a Trout Unlimited Life Member, a Native Fish Society donor, and a Deschutes River Alliance supporter. I want to thank you for your leadership in the DRA. Enclosed is another contribution.

Cordially,

Frank Kay
