Hand Crafted Glass Mosaic MirrorDonor:  Sandy JapelyGlass mosaic mirror, 14-1/2” X 12”, hand-crafted specially for the Deschutes River Alliance auction.  The multi-media art piece includes red-tone, black-tone and clear mottled art glass, round Ching-dynasty-era Chinese coins, and chopsticks which were advocated for use by Confucius to reflect gentleness and benevolence, the main moral teaching of Confucianism. 104. Handwoven Willow and Driftwood BasketDonor: Carol HorvathDepending on the size and intricacy, Carol Horvath’s display baskets sell from $300 to $1,000 and are veritable pieces of art. The organic willow she uses is specially grown in Amity, OR, and she personally collects and selects the driftwood from Oregon’s beaches. Carol has been weaving baskets for over 20 years and teaches basketry for the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild. 105. Original Painting by Maupin Resident and DRA Supporter, Suzanne KnappDonor: Suzanne KnappSuzanne has been involved with art in some way throughout her life, but it was when she retired from the State of Oregon and moved to Maupin and the Deschutes River canyon that her art interest really took off. The Deschutes River canyon is her focus and watercolor is her media of choice.  Her artwork is shown annually at the Maupin Market in mid to late summer, and artwork cards are sold there and at The Dalles Art Center.  106. Museum Quality Print of N.C. Wyeth Painting in Antique FrameDonor: Craig LitherlandDonated from the personal collection of a Portland antique dealer, this museum quality print is entitled “News from Home.” The piece was painted by N.C.
